Privacy and cookies

What igniteidle.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. Plain English, no filler.

Who runs this site

igniteidle.com is run by a sole trader in Melbourne, Australia, under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Visitors come from everywhere, so this notice is also written to meet the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act where those apply to you. The contact point for anything here is hello@igniteidle.com.

Data we collect on this site

This domain currently shows a single placeholder page while it is offered for sale. There is no account, no form, no login and no content beyond that page. The only data collected is the basic traffic measurement described below.

Our own analytics

We count visits ourselves rather than handing the job to a third-party analytics product. For each page request the server records:

• the path you asked for and the referring URL, if your browser sent one;
• the two-letter country Cloudflare works out from your network connection;
• your browser's user-agent string, shortened, and a classification of it (person, search engine crawler, AI assistant, scanner);
• a salted one-way hash of your IP address, used only to avoid counting the same visit twice. We do not store the IP address itself, and the hash cannot be turned back into one.

Every page also carries a small script that sends one message back to us about 1.5 seconds after load, and only if the tab is visible. That tells us a human looked at the page rather than a bot fetching it. It sets no cookie. Outbound link clicks are counted the same way, by label.

None of this identifies you, none of it is sold, and none of it builds a profile of you. Under the GDPR our lawful basis is legitimate interests: knowing which pages are read, in aggregate, with the least data that answers the question.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not set any cookie of our own for analytics or advertising. Cookies and local storage may still appear on this site from three sources:

• Cloudflare, our host, may set its own cf_ cookies for security and bot management.
• Advertising and affiliate partners, if any are active on this domain, as described below.
• Your browser's local storage, where a tool on the site needs to remember something on your device.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Nothing on this site breaks if you do.

Hosting and delivery: Cloudflare

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, with DNS, CDN and email forwarding also provided by Cloudflare. Requests pass through Cloudflare's global network, which keeps its own logs and applies its own security measures. Cloudflare processes that data as our service provider under its own privacy policy.

Affiliate links

Some outbound product links are affiliate links: if you buy after following one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon links carry an associate tag added to the URL by our server when you click. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookies and handles your data under Amazon's privacy notice, not ours.

We may also use other affiliate networks, including Impact, CJ Affiliate, Awin and ShareASale, and manufacturer or retailer programs directly. They work the same way: a tracking parameter in the link, plus cookies set by the destination or the network on their own domains so a sale can be attributed. We never receive your name, address or payment details from any of them, only aggregate commission reports.

Advertising

Where Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. Ads may be personalised, based on your prior activity across sites, or non-personalised, based only on rough location and the content of the page.

You can control this. Google's ads settings are at My Ad Center, and Google explains what it collects on sites like this one in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, personalised advertising and any non-essential cookie is used only where you have given consent through the consent prompt shown before ads load, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time from the same prompt.

Tracking pixels we may add later

We may in future add remarketing or measurement tags from Meta (Facebook Pixel), LinkedIn (Insight Tag), Google Ads or Google Analytics, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok, Reddit or X. None of these are running on this site unless they are named in this notice. This page is updated before any of them goes live, so what is listed here is what is actually loading.

If any become active, you can opt out through your browser settings, the platform's own controls, or the industry opt-out pages: YourAdChoices (DAA), NAI and, in Europe, Your Online Choices (EDAA). Most browsers also block third-party cookies outright, which stops most of this at the source.

Email

Mail sent to hello@igniteidle.com is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to a personal mailbox. Your message, your address and any attachment pass through Cloudflare in transit and are then stored in that mailbox. We keep correspondence while it is useful for the matter you wrote about, generally up to two years, then delete it. We do not have a mailing list and will not add you to one.

How long we keep things

• Analytics rows: kept in aggregate for as long as the site operates, since they contain no identifier that points to you.
• User-created content, where a site offers it: deleted automatically after 90 days without use, or sooner on request.
• Email: generally up to two years.

Where your data goes

We are in Australia. Cloudflare, Google and Amazon are United States companies operating global networks, so data handled by them may be processed in the United States or in other countries. Where the GDPR applies, those transfers rely on the transfer mechanisms each of those providers puts in place, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@igniteidle.com and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally 30 days. In practice we hold very little that could be linked to you, so the honest answer to most access requests is that there is nothing to return beyond an email thread.

In the EEA or the UK you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent for anything based on consent. You can complain to your national data protection authority, or to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

If you are in Australia and you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

If you are a California resident: we do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money. You have the right to know, delete, correct and to opt out of any sale or sharing; use the same contact address, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Children

These sites are general-audience and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to hello@igniteidle.com and we will delete it.

Domain sale

Most of these domains are listed for sale through a third-party domain marketplace. The for-sale link takes you to that marketplace, a separate company with its own privacy policy and cookies. We only see that the link was clicked.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, the effective date at the top changes with it. One policy covers every site we run, so a change made for one appears on all of them.
